BIKE GIVEAWAYS, STUNT PERFORMERS, RECORD-BREAKING RIDERS ALL COMING TO THE 2015 MOTORCYCLE SHOW - VANCOUVER

January 15, 2015 at 11:41 AM

For Immediate Release

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The 2015 Motorcycle Show - Vancouver presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance is rolling into Abbotsford’s Tradex from January 23rd to 25th, highlighting the motorcycling industry’s loudest engines, coolest exhibitions and latest trends, along with death-defying riders to watch and terrific contests to enter. Here are just some of the fantastic exhibits and events to check out this year:

Deeley Harley-Davidson is bringing the Project LiveWire™ Experience Tour to Vancouver, an exhibition of the very first Harley-Davidson with an electric engine. This exhibit is both a testament to innovation and an homage to Harley-Davidson’s heritage. The Project LiveWire™ Experience Tour offers Harley fans a chance to test ride this one-of-a-kind bike as well as an opportunity to check out their Jumpstart™ Demo riding simulator for one weekend only.

Back by popular demand is SHE Rides Night, celebrating women who ride and those who want to take up the sport. Between 5:00 and 8:30 PM on Friday, January 23rd, admission for all female attendees is half price, and women (18+) are encouraged to enter the ladies-only draw, where one lucky rider will take home a brand new 2015 Kawasaki EX300, courtesy of Canadian Kawasaki and your local Kawasaki dealers. In addition to the contest, all Show attendees that night will have a chance to meet Valerie Thompson – America’s Queen of Speed and 5-time motorcycle land speed record holder, presented by BMW Motorrad Canada.

Available for both male and female attendees this year, the Show’s grand prize is a 2015 Triumph Bonneville Newchurch Commemorative Special Edition motorcycle. This is a unique bike – less than thirty will be made available in Canada. Paying tribute to the world’s largest Triumph event, the Triumph Tridays festival in Neukirchen, Austria, the bike comes with a low profile seat, a unique paint scheme and black detailing not seen anywhere else.

For young visitors, the Show is bringing back the always-popular Yamaha Riding Academy for Kids, a fun and interactive course designed for children aged 6-12, who will learn how to ride a Yamaha TTR or PW in a safe and monitored off-road environment. With the assistance of trained professionals who work to ensure safe and competent motorcycle experiences, the kids are sure to have a look of exhilaration in their eyes as they try out these bikes and zip past mom and dad.

The always thrilling, fan-favourite Team Empire, are also returning to this year’s Show, presented by Parts Canada. Nick “Apex” Brocha and Ernie “Edub” Vigil are professional motorcycle freestyler stunt riders, constantly pulling off daring feats that push the limits of what a person can do on two wheels. On four wheels, Bill Hitchon will be doing equally daring ATV stunts all weekend. In addition, the Canadian Pacific Trials Association will be performing at the Show, where riders will manoeuvre through a specially designed obstacle course, all without touching their feet to the ground. Take a break from the Show floor, grab some fresh air, and be captivated by the talent of each of these riders in their Shows running three times a day.

Produced by Power Sport Services, the Motorcycle Show - Vancouver features some of the biggest names in motorcycle production, including BMW Motorrad, BRP, Deeley Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory, Yamaha and many more.

FIVE GAME-CHANGING BIKES AT THE 2015 MOTORCYCLE SHOW - VANCOUVER

December 22, 2014

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Manufacturers across the board are continually pushing the limits on the productions of their motorcycles, and 2015 will see the introduction of never-before-seen technologies on street-ready bikes, revitalized designs of retro models, and conquered brand milestones. The 2015 Motorcycle Show – Vancouver presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance will have hundreds of the industry’s newest and best motorcycles on display when it rolls into Tradex, from January 23-25.

The list of incredibly impressive bikes that will be on the floor that weekend goes on for pages and pages, so here are just five of the game-changing and noteworthy bikes coming to this year’s Show.

Deeley Harley-Davidson is bringing the Project LiveWire™ Experience Tour to Vancouver. Project LiveWire™ will be the first Harley with an electric motor, but this model stays true to their classic look, sound and feel. As Harley says, “think electric guitar – not electric car.” Not only will they have a model on display for riders to explore up-close at the Show, but they’re also bringing their Jumpstart™ Demo - a riding simulator that doesn’t require any experience or a motorcycle license. The prototype will be in the Vancouver area for one weekend only, so try it out while you can!

Kawasaki has raised the bar once again with the introduction of the world’s only supercharged production hypersport streetbike, the brand new Ninja H2, a street legal version of the mind-blowing Ninja H2R. With its all-new, four-cylinder, 998cc in-line engine; centrifugal-type supercharger; and dog-ring transmission that’s commonly found in high-performance racing bikes, the H2 offers unprecedented power and really is “built beyond belief.” Technical aspects aside, this motorcycle looks incredible, too. The tank, fairing and seat are decked out in a mirror-coated black paint, developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. specially for this bike; and with subtle lime green detailing, the H2 will surely turn heads – not just because of its performance.

From Kawasaki’s futuristic design, to something slightly more historical, Ducati has revitalized their classic Scrambler line in a wicked “post-heritage,” contemporary style. With its naked frame, wide-set handlebars and glass headlight lens, the Scrambler is a bike made for riders who appreciate 1970s Ducatis, but want the functionality and technology of a modern motorcycle. The 830 cc, 6-gear Icon will be the first of four models available in Canada, with Full Throttle, Urban Enduro, and Classic following suit.

Then, there’s the brand new Polaris Slingshot that is unlike anything else at this year’s Show. It’s a three-wheeled, street legal, SxS motorcycle with an open-air cockpit and low-set chassis, giving both the driver and the passenger an incredible riding experience. Combining its futuristic-roadster look with the five-speed manual transmission, four-cylinder engine, ABS, electronic stability control, and media console which includes an LCD screen, back up camera, Bluetooth® integration and 6-speaker audio system, the Slingshot fuses the comforts and control of a sports car with the multi-sensory rush of a traditional motorcycle.

Honda achieved one milestone in 2014 with the production of its 300-millionth motorcycle, and will have another in 2015 with the Gold Wing. Okay you caught us - the Gold Wing isn’t new, but it does deserve a special nod for celebrating its 40th anniversary as one of the most iconic touring machines on the market. Over the years, Honda has moulded this bike into the epitome of comfort and style, positioning it as the standard-setter in the industry. To commemorate this momentous year, Honda has released a special 40th Anniversary Edition of the Gold Wing, as well as unique 40th Anniversary emblems on all 2015 Gold Wing models.

See all those bikes, alongside classic motorcycle displays, interactive workshops, thrilling performances and multiple giveaways at this year’s Show.
