Who we are at the MMIC and COHV

Do you want to be the best rider you can be? The Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC) and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV), two national non-profit industry associations whose members include the major manufacturers, distributors and retailers of motorcycles and ATV's, can help point you in the right direction.  As owners of seven premiere motorcycle & ATV shows held annually across Canada, it tells you right away that we know a lot about riding and what it takes to "Ride Like A Pro".  Each year new and experienced riding enthusiasts come to these Canadian Industry showcases to check out what's new and what's hot for the upcoming season.  Each year enthusiasts are introduced to the latest technology that makes riding smoother, safer and more enjoyable.

At MMIC & COHV we know that riding your bike or ATV is a thrill that requires critical skills.  Luckily, these skills can be learned and with a click of a mouse, on-road and off-road riders can enter our web sites and find out for yourself what it takes to get the proper training, equipment, riding experience and ongoing education that allows you to master your machine, the environment and constantly changing riding situations.  Check us out at www.mmic.ca or www.cohv.ca and join us at one of our seven shows in a city near you. A percentage of the profits from these shows are distributed to rider clubs and federations to help fund and support industry sanctioned programs and safety and educational initiatives across the country.

The BC Coalition of Motorcyclists and the BC Off-Road Motorcycle Association received grants from the MMIC & COHV at the 2009 Vancouver Motorcycle Show.

Welcome

The members of the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC) and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV) invite you to attend the Vancouver Motorcycle Show.  Vancouver  follows Calgary and Edmonton as the Canadian Motorcycle and ATV industries' final stop on the Western swing of its cross-Canada, seven city show tour where the leading manufacturers and distributors travel coast to coast offering the riding community a first glimpse of their new 2011 models. The MMIC and COHV are national, not-for-profit industry trade associations whose members account for over 90 per cent of all new motorcycles, scooters and ATV's sold in Canada. A percentage of the profits from these seven shows are distributed to rider clubs and federations to help fund and support industry sanctioned programs, and safety and educational initiatives across the country.

The Vancouver Motorcycle Show is British Columbia's only stop on the tour and is the exclusive show where MMIC and COHV member companies get together to introduce hundreds of new models to the press and riding public. Visitors are offered an exceptional opportunity to check out the newest bikes, ATV's, scooters, gear and accessories direct from the manufacturers, factory reps and dealers- including Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Buell, Victory, Triumph, KTM, Hyosung, BRP, and many more. In addition, the show offers enthusiasts a wide variety of entertainment, seminars, celebrities and much more as major retailers and distributors feature every conceivable product and service of interest to the rider.

The Vancouver Motorcycle Show comes once a year, so don't miss it. Mark the weekend of January 20-23, 2011 on your calendar and make plans to attend and see all the exciting new products the industry is offering for the 2011 riding season!

ATVBC Trailer Sponsored by the MMIC & COHV

In the spring of 2008 ATVBC was able to purchase a 22 ft Mirage trailer from Meridian RV, with the assistance of COHV, MMIC and the BC Provincial Government, to spread the word about Environmentally Responsible Riding as well as introducing the various clubs that make up ATVBC.

Tthe trailer has moved to all parts of BC, from Ft St John to Vancouver Island to Elkford and has included cities and towns like Creston, Nakusp, Lone Butte, Houston, Revelstoke, Duncan, Campbell River, Golden, Princeton and Kamloops to name a few. While in these cities and towns the trailer has been in parades, at retail outlets, ATV Dealers and trade shows as well as numerous ATVBC and Club Events.  It has been very effective in catching people's interest and attention, and initiating positive dialogue about the people and clubs that are the foundation of ATVBC and the Trailer has helped to get information out and increase membership.
